End-of-Summer 2009 BANG Weekend at the Yellow Monkey in Ogunquit, Maine

Announcing the ninth BANG weekend at the Yellow Monkey Guest Houses!

Enjoy summer’s last hurrah by spending a nude weekend with BANG at the Yellow Monkey Guest Houses on Main Street in Ogunquit, conveniently located near the beach, restaurants, and bars.

As with the previous Ogunquit events, BANG has reserved the entire Tara Cottage as “BANG Central.” We’ve also reserved three nearby rooms, one of which is pet friendly. Refer to the table below for the room availability and price list. As usual, we will have exclusive use of the Tara Cottage and are free to be nude anywhere within this building, outdoors on the attached sundeck at the rear of the building, as well as on the adjacent lawn for activities such as BBQ and volleyball or just lounging in the sun or shade. This building is where all the common activities will be held. We also have access to the hot tub and the large roof sun deck, where we can also be nude. Keep in mind that these last two amenities are in separate buildings, and that we must be clothed whenever we are within sight of the street or any public area. Of course, there must be no sexual activity within sight of any public area; this activity should be conducted in the privacy of your rooms. While within the buildings, please take care to use your towel to cover any upholstered furniture upon which you will sit. We don’t want any unpleasant souvenirs to prevent us from being welcome at the Yellow Monkey in the future.

You can check-in as early as noon on Friday and check-out as late as 1pm on Sunday. For those who would like to enjoy the beach after check-out time, a complimentary shower is available in the Fitness Room (the converted garage building at the rear of the parking lot) for the remainder of the day. We’ll be providing a free Welcome BBQ on Saturday afternoon around 5pm, and a simple continental breakfast on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

If you want to stay in one of our rooms (even if only for one night), you must book through BANG and pay BANG in advance. (If you book directly with the Yellow Monkey, you will be assigned rooms in other houses which will not be nude-only.) If you only come up for the day, or want to make your own housing arrangements, you are still welcome to visit the Tara Cottage and join in all the BANG activities, but will need to pay BANG a $10 per day event fee. Non-members can also attend, but will need to pay an additional $5 per day.

Volunteers: We are looking for volunteers to help with some of the chores and activities involved in putting on this event. These include helping with the set-up or tear-down of the screen in the side yard, keeping the indoor and outdoor areas tidy, organizing outdoor events (like the Welcome BBQ, body-painting, or anything else that may strike your fancy). Watching movies in the evenings seems to be a popular activity; we would like someone to be responsible for the DVD book and operating the DVD player. If you would like to volunteer for any of these tasks, please let us know when you make your reservations. Thanks.

Transportation: It is assumed that people will be responsible for their own transportation. Free parking is available at the Yellow Monkey. For those without a car, two alternatives are carpooling and Amtrak’s Downeaster train service from Boston’s North Station to Portland, Maine, with a stop in nearby Wells, Maine, 6.5 miles from the Yellow Monkey. The train trip takes 1 hour and 50 minutes and costs $19 each way. The Yellow Monkey offers free train station pick-up and drop-off.

Pet-Friendly Room: If you’d like to bring your house-broken (non-human) pet, the Garage (the former garage building near the hot tub) are available. If this room is not reserved one week prior to the event, it will be returned to the Yellow Monkey for rental to other guests.

Room Sharing: If you want to share a room, please choose your own roommate(s) and make the reservations for all at the same time; we’re not a match-making service.

Reservations: Reservations for this event will be accepted on a first-come first-served basis. Because of this, we cannot guarantee that the accommodations you desire will be available when you make your reservations, so be prepared with an alternate selection. Last June’s response was a phenomenal success and everyone had a great time, so we expect a very lively response for this event. Don’t delay. Make your reservations ASAP. When reserving, please specify the room that you want, the number of people who will be sharing (as well as their names) and the number of nights. We expect most people to stay both nights, so remember to multiply the prices below by 2. RSVP via e-mail to monkey@bangma.org. Cancellation/Refund Policy: Because we must pay for the rooms in advance, any cancellations received after Sept 4 will result in the forfeiture of the room portion of the fee unless we can fill the room from a waiting list. The $10/day BANG portion of the fee will be refunded. Cancellations received earlier than this deadline will result in a full refund.

Prices: The prices and amenities for each room are listed in the table below. The prices are per person, per night, member prices and vary depending on the type of accommodation and number of people in the room. The prices include taxes but do not include tips for the Yellow Monkey staff. Non-members, please add $5 per person, per night to the prices below.
